The two of us are extensively trained stylists with a passion for making sure you get the 'do you so deserve. We're a fun duo with a genuine interest in your well-being. Not all catty. And definitely not fratty. The Design Gallery Salon is a quiet, comfortable space filled with friendly folks and a laid back, positive atmosphere.
To keep your hair in-place and looking sheen, we use Paul Mitchell color and styling products. When a mane warrants, we also use Pureology, Framesi and American Crew styling products. If we use it, we carry it, so you can replenish your styling products stock at any time.
If you're yearning for a cut, color or inspirational new 'do, we'll surely treat your most important accessory with just the right touch.
Spring 2023 Update
Due to high customer volumes, we are sorry to say we are unable to take on walk-ins for the foreseeable future.
In 2012 we moved to our location in City Market, where we spent 10 years. Though we loved our time there, we knew in 2022 it was time for another change. Starting in May 2022 we are now located at 209 N Boylan Ave. This move also brought about a change in concept, no longer with our traditional storefront, now operating within the Salon Veritas space. With ample parking on the street and reserved parking in the unmarked spaces behind the house, this charming neighborhood is just a short walk to some Raleigh highlights, yet tucked away from the hustle and bustle.
Heather Weatherford
Our creative co-owner and accomplished stylist, Heather trained at The International Institute of Hair Design and has over 20 years experience. She has advanced training with the Sassoon academy in both NYC + San Francisco and is a passionate colorist. When she’s not behind the chair she loves traveling the world and spending time with her daughter Ruby, hubby Morgan and Rescue pup Roscoe.
Lauren Khavari
Our resident super sweetheart snippist, Lauren is co-owner and skillful stylist, primed with nearly 18 years of hairdressing experience. Throughout her career, Lauren has trained in New York and D.C., with her most recent advanced training at Sassoon Academy in California. She specializes in the latest cut and color trends, excelling at special occasion styles. Equal parts cheerful disposition, style excellence and great listener, Lauren has the skills of a hair surgeon with the patience of an angel to help you look fab and feel even better. Away from the stylist chair, she's in front of a high chair spending time with her son Kase and daughter Jo.
