NOT YOUR MOTHER'S BEAUTY PARLOR. SWEET WITH A LITTLE SASSY.
We opened the original Design Gallery Salon back in January '05 on Hillsborough Street in Raleigh. Last year we celebrated 10 years of hairdressing, with the last four based in our historic City Market location downtown!
Stop by to experience our charming and convenient little neighborhood. There's abundant parking so you can pop in for a quickie, or make a day of it enjoying our cobblestone streets and all the arts 'n action outside our door.
Offering the Best Looks with the Latest in Cut & Color
The four of us are extensively trained stylists with a passion for making sure you get the 'do you deserve. We're a fun bunch with a genuine interest in your well-being. Not all catty. And definitely not fratty. The Design Gallery Salon is a quiet, comfortable space filled with friendly folks and a laid back, positive atmosphere.
To keep your hair in-place and looking sheen, we use Paul Mitchell color and styling products. When a mane warrants, we also use Pureology, Framesi and American Crew styling products. If we use it, we carry it, so you can replenish your styling products stock at any time.
If you're in downtown Raleigh yearning for a cut, color or inspirational new 'do, we'll surely treat your most important accessory with just the right touch.

Upon graduating from Mitchell's Academy, Teresa journeyed to Florida for advanced training and two years as a top stylist. Born with a love for the beauty industry, her formative years included practicing hair, makeup and fashion styles on her older sister. Teresa has experience with all types of hair and enjoys long, flowing styles for coloring, layering and highlighting, and wants to make every client feel beautiful. When she's not at the salon, she enjoys visiting said sister in the coastal community of Wilmington, while also enjoying downtown restaurants (Mexican!), walking her miniature schnauzer, Scout, and experiencing everything our city has to offer.
Lindsey is our newest superstar who’s a big believer in transforming your mood by transforming your appearance. She loves to help clients look and feel beautiful. Lindsey is a graduate of Mitchell's Hair Styling Academy who specializes in up-dos and special event styling and makeup. She's also a graduate of Elon who worked professionally in musical theatre prior to settling in Raleigh. Lindsey enjoys aerial silks, Krav Maga, naps, hooping, painting and cuddling with her kitties Sammie and Sibby.
Casie The Mayor
Casie is a proud Kansas native, awesome mom to two kids, and loves singing randomly out loud in public. She keeps everyone in the salon on our toes and on-schedule. Come visit and you'll love her energy, as she's always smiling and sees the good in everything and everyone. We like to call Casie the mayor of wherever she goes because she's large and in-charge. Guys, don't stop by with flowers... unless they're sunflowers, of course.
